The Tikari fighter, or Tik, was a fighter used by the International Fleet in the Second Formic War.[1]
Design and Function[]
The Tikari was a two-seat fighter designed by Juke Limited. It was very nimble with good maneuverability and speed; the Tik would reach nearly six Gs when launching. It was armed with two slasers and nine guided breach missiles, such as B45s. It was also decently armored, as it could withstand several collisions with hullmat at high speeds, and groups of fighters could redirect Formic warships with their hulls.[1]
History[]
The Hive[]
Several Tikari fighters were docked at GravCamp. When the Formics disguised one of their ships as a IF D-class battleship and sent it on a collision course with the station, these fighters were launched to destroy the ship. Mazer Rackham, along with Bingwen, crashed his fighter onto the ship, "unzipped" the hull with NanoCloud paint, and dropped three B45 breach missiles into the ship to destroy the inside. Meanwhile, the remaining fighters were pushing the ship away from its collision course with GravCamp.[1]
Trivia[]
- "Tikari" is Finnish for "dagger".[2]
