The Civilizations of Birds was a monograph about the civilization on Nest, focusing on the sentient Ravens and Keas. It was written Valentine Wiggin under her Demosthenes persona to be disseminated among the Hundred Worlds.[1]

Valentine, under her pseudonym of Demosthenes, compiled documents to create "Deliberate Dispersals" around 6 months after the Leguminids arrived on Lusitania in 3180 AX. One conversation sourced for the work was the meeting between the envoy of the Ravens, Dog, and the Hive Queen of Shakespeare. After the Descolada project reached its close, Jane asked Plikt and Valentine to write monographs that included accounts of the work of the Ribeira family and the Leguminids. Jane was never mentioned; nor was Detouring; and no account mentioned Nest.[1]
