Randi Firth, born Randi Alba, later known as Randi Johnson and later Nichelle Firth, was the mother of Arkanian Delphiki and a fanatic of Achilles de Flandres.[2] She was first introduced in Shadow of the Giant.

Married to a grocery store owner named Bob, Randi Firth fell in love with Achilles de Flandres, and believed he was the savior of mankind. She was the surrogate for an embryo he told her was of his seed, though in actuality it came from Petra Arkanian and Bean. Randi left Bob to have who she believed to be Achilles' son. It was her mission to raise the boy, whom she called Achilles II, to fulfill what she saw as his father's destiny, and become the ruler of Earth.[2]
She took on a new identity as Nichelle Firth, as she had an irrational fear that Peter Wiggin and the Free People of Earth would discover her son to be Achilles' and take him away from her. She applied to be a colonist heading to the abandoned Formic worlds.[2]
Ender in Exile[]
Randi was assigned to the Ganges colony. As they waited at the old Battle School to depart, she encountered her future governor Virlomi, who took note that Randi bristled at any mention of the Hegemony or Peter Wiggin or the Wars on Earth or the Free People of Earth, and above all Bean, and whispered things to her son after hearing them. However, when she heard Achilles' name, she softened up and spoke kindly to her child, whispering the name "Achilles Flandres" over and over. Shortly before leaving, Hyrum Graff came to see the colonists off, and Randi confronted him to a degree due to her hatred for him. After this, Randi and her child went into Stasis.[1]
After reaching Ganges, Randi continued to raise her son, manipulating him into hating Peter Wiggin and Bean for murdering his supposed father, Achilles.[1]
In 62 AX, Ender Wiggin arrived on Ganges and Randall met him, though their encounter was odd. Randall came to his mother in confusion, and she insisted that he needed to kill Ender, as the closest thing to revenge against Peter Wiggin. Randall decided that the only way to destroy Ender's reputation once and for all was to have Ender kill him, like he did to Stilson and Bonzo, thus proving once and for all that Ender Wiggin was a monster who would kill anyone in his way. When he told his mother this idea, she was furious and forbid him.[1]
