SPOILER WARNING: Ender Quintet plot details follow.

The Natives of Ganges were a political group led by Randall Firth on the planet Ganges that became popular on the Nets.[1]

Description[]

The Natives regarded The Hive Queen as their scripture, and the Formics as their spiritual forebears. The goal of the Natives differed by location. On Ganges, it stated that they were trying to create a new culture, but were being quashed by the 80% of the population that were Indian, who were trying to reestablish their exact culture they had on Earth. On Earth, however, the movement claimed that the Free People of Earth should be abolished because it erased all the 'genuine,' 'native' cultures of Earth. They refused to speak Common, and made a big show of following native religions.[1]

History[]

Founding[]

The Natives of Ganges was established sometime around 58 AX by Randall Firth. He harnessed the discontent of the 20% of Gangean colonists who were not Indian and created a movement against the domineering Indian culture. It became popular on the Nets and on Earth, where the movement became about preserving native cultures in the face of the Hegemonic FPE.[1]

Ender in Exile[]

In 62 AX, upon Ender Wiggin's arrival at Ganges, Randall began a propaganda campaign against the man, making up the story that he would kill Randall in Stasis on the starship back to Earth, and meeting him face to face to record the encounter. However, during the meeting Ender was very gentle and kind and had tears in his eyes, making many realize that he was not a monster nor the instigator.[1]
