Philipus Rietveld, more commonly known as Flip,was a Battle School Student and a soldier in Rat Army.[1] He was first introduced in A War of Gifts: An Ender Story.

Flip was born in the Netherlands. Eventually he entered Battle School and was transferred to Rat Army under Rose The Nose's command. On December 5th, Dink Meeker placed a poem in Flip's shoe as Sinterklaas Day commemoration, causing Zeck Morgan to report the action to Colonel Graff, leading to the confiscation of the poem and subsequently a Battle School-wide gift exchange.[1]
