Bella Delphiki was the daughter of Petra Arkanian and Bean, born by a surrogate mother.[1] She was first introduced in Shadow of the Giant.

Bella's embryo was stolen by Achilles de Flandres to be implanted in a surrogate mother. After she was born, she was quickly discovered and returned to Bean and Petra. She would remain behind on Earth, while her three siblings with Anton's Key would leave with their father in a starship to wait until a cure was discovered. To avoid suspicion when Bella 'Carlotta' Delphiki disappeared, the one with Anton's Key was nicknamed Carlotta while her sister on Earth was named Bella.[1]
Bella was moved with the rest of her siblings to Blackstream, Brazil, where she was cared for by his grandparents, Elena and Julian Delphiki I. A year after her birth, her mother Petra finally returned home from war to see her children. Bella shared a room with her brother Andrew Delphiki.[1]
