An Ancestor-of-the-heart was a being of history or mythology for whom a resident of Path was named after. They were considered equal to a blood ancestor in honor and obligation.[1]
For example, Si Wang-mu was named after the Chinese goddess of the same name, so she was her Ancestor-of-the-heart.[1]
