SPOILER WARNING: Ender Quintet plot details follow.

Aimaina Hikari was a prominent philosopher on the world of Divine Wind.[1] He was first introduced in Children of the Mind.

History[]

Children of the Mind[]

Aimaina was a well-respected figure on his home planet and held much sway with Starways Congress. Due to this influence, he was sought out by Peter Wiggin II and Si Wang-mu in order to get Congress to cancel the order to use the Molecular Disruption Device on Lusitania in a "Second Xenocide". [1]

As Peter and Wang-mu eventually managed to meet with Aimaina, Peter was sidelined in the conversation due to his Western values. Thus, Wang-mu and Aimaina sought to "out-humble" each other in their discussion. When they had finished their conversation, Peter and Wang-mu left to the planet Pacifica.[1]

Aimaina's opinions on the Second Xenocide were shifted after the conversation. He warned his friend Grace Drinker of the two individuals who were coming to visit her on Pacifica.[1]

Personality[]

He believed that Ender Wiggin's act of xenocide against the Formics was justified, as it saved humanity, and in association with this believed the destruction of Lusitania was also justified. He was a firm follower of Leiloa Lavea's philosophy and Ua Lava religion that originated from the planet Pacifica.[1]
